Yes most people do, the coral will cover them & spread to the rock & you wont see it after awhile.

If I can find a good hole to place it in, then it's good. But with caps, I usually take them off.

I cut off the pegs and epoxy them to the rock.

I thought the frag pegs were the reason to buy fragged coral in the first place... /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/whistling.gif

My rock is man made. There  are no holes or crevices to stick a peg....

I drill holes in the rocks so the plug is almost flush with the rock. So eventually it looks like this.

I cut the frag off but leave about 1/3 of it on and put that in the frag tank to grow in and super glue the new frag into my display.

LOL, that was meant as a joke/sarcasm. As om "I collect the pegs, not the corals we stick on them"
Heh, just me being stupid I guess /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/tongue.gif

I would recomend just taking the frag off the plug.  I usually reglue the frag to a small piece of rock and then glue that rock to my main rockwork.  That way it has room to encurst and grow and I can easily move the entire frag/colony to other spots in the tank.

I use wire cutters. It doesn't require much pressure.
