Running carbon in a TLF 150

I thought I could get away without carbon in my 29, but my water has a yellowish/green hue, probably due to the formula one pellets I feed. Anyway, my question is about running the carbon in a tlf reactor. Do I just fill her up and let a rip? I know I need to flush the "dust" off the media, but do I fill it to the top? 3/4? Half way? I know I don't want them "boiling", so I am thinking to the top, not heavily "packed" is the way to go?

I use the BRS calculator to determine how much to use. Looks like about 6 tbs for your system

I have been using the prescribed amount and changing it monthly with good results.

Woah. Six tablespoons would create a monsoon! Isn't the idea to not allow them to be moving? The TLF reactor will take about two cups I would think.

For your tank I would use a cup and push the sponge down tight on top of the carbon.
