Florida trip

    hello,
    On friday i will be going to Florida for 17 days and was wondering if there is anything that has to do with our hobby that i should check out down there?

    also if anyone knows the laws down there as far as collecting stuff for the tank like rock and sand i have been trying to get ahold of thier dnr but having issues

    cant do it. its pretty much all protected unless you have a license

    Not sure that taking some sand from a beach would get you in trouble unless there was some pissed off DNR employee watching you do it, but yes it is illegal to take anything from the ocean or beach unless you have a license or permit to do so.

    yeah just finally got ahold of there dnr and they said it was cool to take sand just to make sure your not taking any animals in that sand that needs a permit to take

    In all seriousness, you should get a permit or whatever you'd need and collect me a few dozen dwarf seahorses!!!

    I wouldn't take sand, unless you go off shore away from pollution, as a Florida native ( Born and raised ) most of the waters where you can find stuff for a tank is wildlife reserves and everything is protected /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/sad.gif

    not to mention in parts of florida they drive on the beach so there is that as well as the people and their pollutants such as tanning oil
