/Portals/0/activeforums_Attach/IMG_5860.jpgI picked this small purple and green coral up about 6 months ago. Anybody know what it might be? New growth is realy bright green, then it changes to purple over time. I thought at first it was an encrusting Montipora, but it seems to grow taller as well, so I am unsure.

Does anybody know what it is?

Looks like some kind of favia, not enough detail in the pic to say for sure though.

I was messing with my camera and got a more detailed shot, the 2 green stalks are actually tube worms that it encrusted over.

Any one else have an opinion?

It's not fleshy, and never inflates or deflates.

Thanks for the responses, I never considered favia, until I zoomed in. I always thought it was some sort of sps though. Leptastrea is another one I was thinking, but I was just looking at pictures of different pavona's and that may be it. Hopefully as it grows it's identity will become more clear. For now I am going with Pavona. Unless anyone else wants to chime in.
